As the Head of Freight Forwarding, you will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the freight forwarding operations within the organization. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong understanding of international logistics, customs regulations, and supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities:
Key Performance Index
- Create 3 years operation strategy plan, which is in-line with the company sales strategy and P&L plan by first 3 months of employment.
- Execute the operation strategy and control the operation cost to achieve the P&L plan for the year 2024.
- To update the SOP and documentation for all forwarding business mode by the first 3 months of employment.
- Setting up the Branch’s KPI (Safety, Quality and Productivity) by first 3 months of employment and guide each branch manager to achieve it.
Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and implement the overall strategy for the freight forwarding department in alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
- Provide strong leadership to the team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Operational Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the freight forwarding department, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of freight forwarding processes and identify areas for improvement.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique logistics requirements and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service.
- Collaborate with sales and business development teams to identify opportunities for business growth and expansion.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Stay informed about international trade regulations, customs compliance, and other relevant industry standards.
- Implement and enforce compliance procedures to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to legal requirements.
Cost Management:
- Develop and manage the freight forwarding budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing operational expenses.
- Negotiate contracts with carriers, vendors, and other stakeholders to achieve favorable terms.
Technology and Innovation:
- Stay abreast of advancements in logistics technology and implement relevant tools to improve operational efficiency and visibility.
- Drive innovation within the freight forwarding department to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
Training and Development:
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members, fostering a skilled and motivated workforce.
- Encourage a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in a senior management role within the freight forwarding industry.
- In-depth knowledge of international trade, customs regulations, and logistics operations.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
