The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and nurturing relationships with potential clients in the freight and logistics sector. The role involves understanding client needs, offering tailored solutions, and achieving sales targets to drive revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Acquisition: Identify and target potential clients within the freight and logistics industry through market research, networking, and lead generation activities.
  2. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, understanding their business requirements and providing solutions to meet their needs.
  3. Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to penetrate new markets and maximize business opportunities. This may involve cold calling, attending industry events, and utilizing digital marketing channels.
  4. Proposal Development: Prepare and present compelling proposals and presentations to clients, showcasing the company's services and value proposition.
  5. Negotiation and Closing: Negotiate contract terms and pricing agreements with clients to secure new business and achieve sales targets.
  6. Market Intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify potential opportunities and threats.
  7. Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams such as operations, customer service, and finance to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  8. Reporting: Provide regular reports and updates on sales activities, pipeline status, and revenue forecasts to management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • Proven track record of success in sales, preferably within the freight or logistics industry.
  • Strong understanding of freight forwarding operations and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
